Settling into a routine
As you can see, decorating choices aside, things aren't that
different here at Camp Doris Court. Occassionally when
Aunt Lisa is listening to 10 at 10, she'll suddenly bust
out singing. It's like being in that Buffy episode. Other
than that, life is pretty ordinary.
I do have to say I think Aunt L. spends way too much time
in front of that glowing screen thingy. Not the one you watch
from the couch that would be fine! It's the one with
the pictures of my moms. She must really miss them to keep
staring at that screen all day!
Sometimes she gets very angry at that little screen thingy.
She says things she probably shouldn't say. One day it even made her
cry. Twice! She packed it up and sent it away for a while. She must
have sent it to obedience training because it seems to be behaving now.
Daily nutritional requirements
A couple of days I couldn't quite finish my breakfast, even with
those special "num num" sounds Aunt L. makes. You know what happens
then I get a piece of cheese, just like at home. Smoked gouda!
Then Aunt L. decided to give me a little less for breakfast so
I would be sure to eat it all. She started calling it my "petit,
petit déjeuner," whatever that means. Oh Aunt Lisa!
You know you can't win this one!
Aunt L. does seem to understand that whenever she is eating,
I should also be eating. A concept my Moms never quite grasped the
way I hoped they would.
Flags and flowers
Aunt Lisa is really becoming attached to me. She wore shoes
to match my nice red, white and blue scarf, and she even hung
a big flag outside so everyone would notice! I was really touched
when everyone else in the neighborhood put out flags to match my
scarf too! They must really like me here.
One thing I just don't understand is why Aunt Lisa and Aunt
Rebecca pull out all the flowers just to turn around and put new
ones in? That makes no sense. Now that Aunt Rebecca is away too, poor
Aunt L. is all on her own. Good thing I'm here!
