A walk a day keeps the blues away
I have Aunt Lisa on a strict regimen of at least one long walk
per day. She really needs to get out more! I'm here to help.
Sometimes Aunt L. takes me on a special outting, like to the
dog park. One day she said there would be sand castles there. I
didn't see any. Maybe because of that mean sign that said no dogs
allowed on the beach. Well! I never!
Of course all this exercise means I have a tough time catching
up on my beauty rest. Especially with Aunt Lisa always flashing
that darn camera at me! Luckily I can sleep through almost anything.
Happy Hounds Day Camp
One day Aunt L. decided since everyone else was off having so much
fun, she should get an outting too. I think she's just trying to
keep her growing attachment to me in check. Obviously, that's a
losing battle!
She said I would spend the day at Happy Hounds Day Camp. Turned
out it was just Emeril and Lily's house! I have just one comment about
the whole experience. Hello! Is Aunt Rebecca the only one around
here who can follow directions? 22 biscuits! Finally! Burp!!!
Dalmations & squirrels & cats. Oh my!
I really have my work cut out for me here keeping track of all
these animals! The dalmations next door always bark back when I
bark at them. And there's this squirrel that insists on running
along Aunt Lisa's fence, right in front of me! To top it all
off, there are two cats who seem to think they own the whole neighborhood.
They really get my goat!
As time goes by...
Aunt Lisa must really miss my mommies. Every day she tells me how
much longer before they come home. Of course, being a dog, I have no
concept of time. So she explained a day equals a 24-hour period during
which the earth completes one rotation on its axis. Still no clue. Then
she told me a day is the interval from one dinner to the next. Well, why
didn't she just say so! Now I get it!
I think as long as Aunt Lisa stays on her walk-a-day regimen and
has me to feed, brush, and pet, she'll be fine without my moms for
another week! I just try to keep her distracted by barking at the dogs, squirrels and cats.
And by reminding her when it's time for her walk!
